CUAA-DC is honored to offer scholarships to the most gifted youth in the DMV area. In partnership with the MCPS Board of Education, we have been awarding scholarships since2023.

Beginning in 2024, CUAA-DC has teamed up with Channdayan to promote Indian Classical Music in the DMV area, presenting two awards in this category.

The DC South Asian Arts Council Inc. (DCSAACI) is a non-profit organization that provides opportunities to South Asian artists to showcase talent via films, dance, books and art.

Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS):

This is a Department of Defense-sponsored STEM competition for grades 9-12 who submit original research to the competition to win scholarships. https://jshs.org/

The Gains in the Education of Mathematics and Science (GEMS) Program:

This is a five-week summer STEM enrichment program where 4th-11th grade students experience hand-on STEM activities. https://www.usaeop.com/program/frederick/

STEM Mini-Series:

This USAMRDC-hosted program collaborates with the local Frederick County library system to distribute 3,000 take-home kits and host in-person STEM events targeted towards middle school students

Junior Solar Sprint (JSS):

This event is coordinated on the local level for Frederick County. Middle schoolers are able to build a solar car over the course of several months and race their finished cars at this competition. https://tsaweb.org/competitions-programs/programs/solar-sprint
